About Me

So if have landed here and are not related to me….

I am Kelly.  I am a single mom.   I am a lot of things — a  Southern lady, a mom, a sales professional, a painter, a writer of sorts, a dancer (okay that is not even true — but since you may not know me I feel I can stretch this a bit), a health and fitness buff, etc. etc. etc.  I have two gorgeous children, both born in Moldova (between the Ukraine and Romania if you didn’t know that. )

I started this blog as a way to update my friends and family as to our progress during and after the adoptions.   And then I started having fun with it.  Now I use this as a way to share the joys and craziness of our lives (and let me tell you there are lots of both).

If it inspires you in any way, I am tickled.  If it pushes you to consider adoption, tell someone else and maybe even pursue it, well I am elated and you have made my day.

IF, and this is a big IF, it makes you feel better about your equally insane parenting life, then two snaps up to you.  This Mom’in thing is hard work.

I love to hear from you with interesting tidbits, a chuckle we inspired, or even “are you crazy?”.  And the answer to the final point is and always will be YES!

OMG girlfriend you are FUNNY. I read your November posts and quickly became addicted…so I went back and over the last 2 days read every. single. post.
I am a Mama way over here in Victoria BC Canada to a lovely (almost) 7 yr old daughter and a 4 yr old son. I can so relate to so many of your parenting adventures. I also couldn’t get enough of Moldova 2 and 2.5…your writing is fast paced and witty and makes me feel like I’m right there with you. In Moldova!
Anyhoo, I just wanted to let you know that your blog is awesome, your girls are hilarious and I’ll be back for more more more!
    Cheers,
    Becca

WOW. How sweet are you? I am glad you enjoyed these. It is great fun for me in the extra few seconds I have each day (know you can relate). I am also glad you enjoyed the Moldova story. My girls are amazing. It was even worth all that mayonnaise. 🙂

    Kelly,

I’ve been to Moldova two times! Why did you decide to adopt from Moldova? I’ve read a few of your posts and it brought back memories of traveling through Frankfurt to Moldova.

I would love to adopt from Moldova as well. I’ve heard there is about to be some changes in the adoption process from that country.

    Thanks for your posts!

I found your blog by accident and am now rreading every thing. You are funny. My daughter and I live in Ukraine. I would love to adopt from here, but I can’t as a single woman. I never thought about Moldova before.

    Hi Kelly,

We sat together at the Women’s Vision Annual Conference a few years ago at the IBM table and talked about adopting your 1st daughter in Maldova. I’m looking to adopt – as a single female. And I remember you having a good experience. So I started researching adoptions in Maldova. Before I go too far down the path, I’d love to have the opportunity to talk with you about lessons learned, the agency you used, etc. Would you be willing to connect with me? Thanks in advance and I hope everything is going well for you and your daughters! Shari

    OMG….hello Kelly, Noreen Brewster
here..I was noodling around LinkedIn and found you and got to your blog and so here I am. I know how totally brave and crazy you are…we adopted 2 beautiful children from Russia in 1997 and I don’t think I could do it alone! Although David did start traveling MUCH MORE right after we brought the kids home (yes, 2 on the same day!). Your girls are indeed too cute and I can see from your writings that you are the most fabulous mom, next to me, of course! Mine are currently 17 (girl) and 15 (boy) and going through all of the traumas of high school which we think we left behind and is ever so much more painful to watch your kids endure.
Would love to chat…still listed in the archaic phone book…or on facebook. You look fantastic and happy!!
